Elderslie's Alyson McKechin, having reached the final for the first time, produced a brilliant, four-under-par performance to win the Renfrewshire women's county golf championship at Erskine Golf Club.
The 19-year-old No 2 seed, pictured, beat former Scottish champion and four times county title-holder Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm), 22, the leading qualifier for the match-play stages, by 3 and 2 in a quality final. Briggs, level par for the 16 holes, was the early leader, going two up with a birdie at the fourth.
McKechin then birdied the fifth and eighth to be all square at the turn. Both girls were out in one-under-par.
Alyson took the lead for the first time by winning the short 11th with a par 3 and when two up with a birdie at the 13th.
Megan responded with a birdie to win the 14th but McKechin  then birdied the 15th and 16th to clinch a 3 and 2 victory in a great match for the gallery.
