TWO STIRLING STUDENTS PLAY FOR EUROPE IN PALMER CUP MATCH AT ROYAL CO DOWN

The European team includes five students at American colleges. It is:
David Booth (Stirling). Nationality: English.
Julien Brun (Texas Christian). French.
Sebastian Cappelen (Arkansas). Danish.
Daan Huizing (Utrecht). Dutch.
Robert Karlsson (Liberty). Swedish.
Thomas Pieters (Illinois) Belgian.
Graeme Robertson (Stirling). Scottish.
Pontus Widegren (UCLA). Swedish.
Team captain: Rikard Lindberg. Swedish
Brun will be the first French player to compete in the matches while Pieters is the first from Belgium.
Cappelen (3-1), Karlsson (0-2-2) and Widegren (2-2) competed for the European team last year when they lost to the American squad at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn. Widegren also played for the Euros in 2010, compiling a 3-1 record.
Two Stirling University students, Graeme Robertson, pictured left, from Larbert and David Booth , pictured right, from Rotherham, have been named in the European team of eight to player the United States in the Palmer Cup transatlantic students' match at Royal Co Down Golf club, Newcastle, Northern Ireland from June 28 to 30.
Robertson has earned his place with his form in open amateur tournaments last season, which has continued this year with victory in the Craigmillar Park Open.

"This is a very strong European team with links experts that will suit this kind of course," said Lindberg, who is also the men's coach for the Swedish national team. "It's going to be a great match, and I can't wait."
