Welllington College, 35 miles southwest of London near Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, scored a double whammy success at the Independent Schools Golf Association Finals over Carnoustie's championship and Burnside courses earlier this week.
They won the team event ahead of Loretto School from Musselburgh with Birkdale third and Millfild and Leeds joint fourth.
And Wellington's English girl international Alex (Alexandra) Peters (pictured) won the individual title with a 67 over the shorter Burnside course and an excellent round of 71 over the Carnoustie championship course for a total of 138.
Apart from a handsome trophy, Alex Peters won Galvin Green waterproofs and a free lesson from Greg Labelle at the Butch Harmon School of Golf in Las Vegas (Editor's note: I presume return air tickets to Las Vegas went alongwith that!)
Alex finished five shots ahead of Will Hawksworth (Birkdale) (70-73) and Sami Bouzabia (Loretto) (69-74) 143 with Carl Kolloss (Loretto) (71-73) fourth on 144.
There were two other girls in the top 10 finishers - Sophie Keech (Millfield) (70-75), joint fifth on 145, and Sophie Godfrey (Worksop), joint eighth on 146 (69-77).
