WEST KILBRIDE YOUNGSTER IN AYRSHIRE SEMI-FINALS

Young Mhairi McKay (West Kilbride) knocked out the top seed, Catherine Malcolm (Prestwick St Nicholas) at the 19th in this afternoon's semi-finals of the Ayrshire women's county golf championship at Troon Portland. In the round of the last four, Mhairi, pictured, will play Jane Finnie (Troon Ladies) who has had two 7 and 6 victorites so far. Last year's runner-up and previous champion, Lesley Hendry (Routenburn) will meet Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie) in the other semi-final.
