FOURTH TITLE FOR AILSA - BUT MUM STILL HAS BRAGGING RIGHTS

Scotland girl international Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) today (Sunday) won the Angus women's county champion for a fourth year in a row - a record at least since the 1980s - but she still has two more titles to collect before she can match her mother's achievements between 1985 and 2005.
Mary (Mackie) Summers, who was also a girl international won the Angus title six times during that period and reached the final of the British girls championship at Edzell.
Ailsa's fourth success was scored over a very cold and windy Montrose Medal course today when she beat Scotland senior international Kathleen Sutherland (Royal Montrose), winner of the Angus title herself in 1990 and 1995.
Ailsa took a commanding lead early in a match that saw some great golf from both players, despite the very difficult conditions.
Teenager Summers won 4 and 3 in the end ... but Mum still has the bragging rights, at least for another two years!

In the handicap championship, Ruth Adamson won a very exciting final against Alice Leiper at the 19th.
