LAUREN TAYLOR PLAYS IN LET EVENT IN ROTTERDAM THIS WEEK

Lauren Taylor (Woburn), the youngest-ever British women's open amateur champion, is one of 11 sponsor-invited players in this week's Ladies European Tour event, the Deloitte Ladies Open at Golfclub Broekpolder, Rotterdam
Lauren, pictured with the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year Trophy, is one of four invited amateurs in the field.
The 16-year-old from Rugby is the first eligible reigning British champion since Emma Duggleby, the title winner in 1994, not to be selected to play for GB and I in the next Curtis Cup match. Duggleby was an out-of-the-blue winner of the British women's open amateur champion at Newport.
But Emma did eventually play in two Curtis Cup matches, in 2000 and 2004 before she announced her retirement from international golf.
So, Lauren Taylor, who is bound for Baylor University, Texas in August, may still get her chance if she hangs around long enough.
She was not selected for next month's Curtis Cup match at Nairn because she had a shoulder/neck injury and was not able to play in the trial match in March.
The LGU Selection Panel, meeting in March, felt they could not take a chance on Lauren not being 100 per cent fit to play against the Americans in June, so she was not even named as one of the four reserves.
Lauren has since returned to playing.
