OLIVER FARRELL WINS FALDO SERIES TITLE AT TRENTHAM

NEWS RELEASE
Fifteen-year-old Oliver Farrell (Evesham) claimed the third Faldo Series UK Championship of the 2012 season at Trentham Golf Club in Staffordshire. The England squad member added a 75 to his brilliant opening round of 68 to take the title by two shots.
“This is a major win for me in my career so far,” said an ecstatic Farrell. “The course was in unbelievable condition this week.  I can’t wait to play Lough Erne at the Grand Final which I’m sure will be just as good.”
Patrick Ruff from Sutton won the Boys’ Under-21 division by three shots after rounds of 72 and 73 to book his place in the 16th Faldo Series Grand Final, to be hosted by six-time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland.
Three other age-group winners heading to the World Amateur Golf Ranking event at Lough Erne next September are Daniel Phillimore (Boys’ Under-18), a finalist back in 2010 from the Manor House, Gemma Batty of St Anne’s Old Links (Girls’ Under-21) and Trentham’s own Emily Coleman (Girls’ Under-16).
