The University of Alabama women's team including two players bound for the Curtis Cup match at Nairn GC next month - Brooke Pancake of the United States and Stephanie Meadow (Great Britain and Ireland) - has gone 11 strokes clear of the field after two rounds of the NCAA Division 1 women's championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, Franklin in Tennessee.
Crimson Tide senior Brooke Pancake shot a 2-under 70 on Wednesday to top the individual leaderboard.
Alabama, two strokes ahead after the first round, shot a 3-under 285 in the second to reach 5-under 571. Defending champion UCLA, North Carolina and Virginia were tied for second at 6 over.
Pancake has a six-under 138 tally.
Arizona State's Giulia Molinaro from Italy was 4 under after a 71, and South Carolina's Katie Burnett shot a 67 to join North Carolina State's Brittany Marchand and first-round leader Virginia's Portland Rosen at 3 under.
Host Vanderbilt jumped from a tie for 22nd to 10th at 14 over.

ANGLO-SCOT DALGLEISH LEADING BRIT IN NAIA MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
Anglo-Scot Alasdair Dalgleish (Oklahoma Christian Unversity) is the leading British player in joint 24th place in a field of 157 players at the NAIA Men's Championship at Creekside GC, Salem in Oregon.
Alasdair, who had more relations in Scotland than he has south of the Border, shot 79-71 for six-over-par 150 over a 6,887yd course.
Dalgleish is 12 shots behind the leader by four strokes, Brandon Metlzer (Johnson and Wales, Florida) with scores of 73 and 65.
Tom Gamble (Webber International) from Walton-on-Thmas is T33 on 151 (79-72).
Yousaf Khan (Grand View) from London is T40 on 152 (79-73).
Jack Bingham (South Carolina-Beaufort) from Cheshire is T72 on 156 (81-75).
Connor O'Dell (Webber International) is T123 with scores of 80-83 for 163.
Dalgleish's effort has help Oklahoma Christian (580) lead the team event, which is being contested by 29 squads. Our Lady in the Lake (591) is lying second, a shot ahead of Johnson and Wales (Florida) with British Columbia (594) and Oklahoma City (595) fourth and fifth respectively.
