NEWS RELEASE BY CLUBGOLF
The NCGGA (Northern Counties Girls Golf Association) recently received £1,880 from the Active Nations 2014 Community Fund to encourage more girls to play more golf, writes NCGGA Captain, Lynne Fraser.
The organisers intend to use the funding to host junior girl competitions at several clubs throughout the North which will also support competition prizes, travel expenses and professional coaching for competitors.
These events will also provide additional coaching for girls, who have recently taken up the game through the ClubGolf initiative and are perhaps just starting off with 3 holes.
There was a fantastic entry of 21 girls for the first event which was held at Muir of Ord GC on 29th April.
PGA Pro Ross Dennison, from Inverness GC, provided coaching and held a putting competition which generated great excitement.
Dates for your diaries girls:
· NCGGA are also hosting an Adult/Junior competition at Torvean GC on May 20th which is open to junior girls, mothers, fathers, grandfathers and Auntie’s and Uncles.
· The next junior girls’ event will be held on 23rd June at Moray GC, Lossiemouth, with coaching provided by Club Professional, John Murray.
· Brora Golf Club will host an event with PGA Pro Brian Anderson delivering the coaching clinic for the girls. Brora’s Junior Golf Academy is ideal for hosting this type of event with practice nets; practice bunkers; 3 hole junior course and a massive new putting green. Date to be arranged.
· Royal Dornoch will be hosting a similar event on Sunday 10th July.

Full details of these events can be had at all local Golf Clubs who will provide further information.
