RACHEL WALKER HEADS FOR TAIN AS SOUTH-WEST CHAMPION
Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County) had her best 18th birthday present on Saturday when she won the South-west of Scotland women's championship at her home course.
She returned two rounds of 76 for a total of 152, eight strokes clear of runner-up Katie McCracken (Powfoot) (80-80 for 160).
The trophy has been played for between the Ladies of Galloway and Dumfriesshire since 1928.
Rachel makes the long journey to the Scottish championship at Tain in Ross-shire in great form. CSS was 74. The course par 72
