CURTIS CUP LEGENDS IN FAVOUR OF A LEGENDS' CURTIS CUP!

Carol Semple Thompson (United States) and Mary McKenna (Ireland), two of the legends of Curtis Cup history, on the first tee at The Nairn Golf Club today for the "Past Players' Match."
"I think we played 21 Curtis Cup matches between us," said Mary, which probably errs on the conservative side and doesn't take into account the matches where they were team captains - as at the Old Course, St Andrews in 2008 when they were the opposing team leaders.
Both of them thought it would be a good idea to start a "Legends Curtis Cup" for players who played in the transatlantic women's amateur international series when they were younger.
"We could build on this Past Players' Match that we have already," said Mary McKenna.
All those in favour ....
More Curtis Cup players/captains of yesteryear at The Nairn GC for the Past Players' Match - (left to right) - Vivien Saunders, Margaret Pickard, Ada O'Sullivan and former Scottish champions Anne Laing and Elaine Farquharson-Black.
The combined Scotland/England team beat the Rest of the World 4-1 with Anne, Elaine and Ada teaming up for a victory (each player in this trio playing every third shot!)
