MORE ABOUT MURRAYSHALL WiFi CHARGES AND THINGS STOLEN

E-mail from John Heaphy

Colin,

We have not met but your recent comments moved me to write to you. We had a company do at Murrayshall last year including dinner for about 30 people of whom 20 or so stayed overnight so it was a hefty bill.
I enquired about wifi and was told the same info as you - I said 'But surely as we are spending £2.5 - 3k with you, can do something for me?, I am sure there are plenty places in Perth that are free.'
The lady to whom I was speaking gestured towards the door and said 'Well it sounds like you know where to go.' I was absolutely struck dumb and I will never darken their door again. What an appalling attitude. Nice to see Lesley Atkins doing well. I played against her in the spring at Gullane and she caressed it a long way, great to watch. I had a brief chat with her last week and she said she was off to Murrayshall so it is nice to see a good result. Ref your other expense; sadly I have experienced many disappearing acts of clothing. Within the last year I lost a nice pair of brown brogues, freshly re-soled, and also a brand new pair of mittens from the changing room at Gullane.
A few years ago a pair of golf shoes 'walked' from Luffness and a good pair of dress shoes vanished at West Linton. I find theft quite astounding but for golfers to steal from fellow golfers is beyond the pale. I must add it is in the minority. I have had a phone, my wallet and a cufflink returned to me and I take the view that if I can reunite someone with their belongings it is a job well done.
It is sad to think we must guard against complacency and not leave clothes and other belongings in the way of temptation. Keep up the good work.
Regards

John Heaphy
