THERESE KOELBAEK IS GREAT DANE IN SYMETRA TOUR EVENT

Symetra Tour rookie Therese Koelbaek carded a 5-under par 67 in the opening round of the Tate and Lyle Players Championship, earning her the first outright lead of her career, at Hickory Point Golf Club, Decatur, Illinois.

The Denmark native started her day on the 9^th hole and had two of her six birdies on the back nine and strung together four-consecutive birdies on Nos. 5 through 8.

A group of four sits one shot off the lead including a pair of past champions, Valentine Derrey and Nicole Jeray. A pack of six players are T6 and includes Volvik Race for the Card contenders No. 3 Jean Chua and No. 4 Lauren Doughtie.
