DAVID BLICK WINS FALDO QUALIFIER AT PYLE AND KENFIG

NEWS RELEASE

David Blick of East Devon won the fifth Faldo Series UK Championship of the 2012 season at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club in Bridgend, Wales.  Having opened with a 74 in testing conditions, the 19-year-old held his nerve on the final day to card a level par 71 and take the title by two shots.

 “This win should really kick-start my season and now my focus is to break into the England set up,” said Blick, who qualifies for the 16^th Faldo Series Grand Final at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland on September 11-13.  “I can’t wait to meet Sir Nick Faldo as I’ve always admired the way he plays golf and his commitment to the game.”

Charlie Spencer-White (Boys’ Under-16) from Colleton River Plantation and Knowle’s Jemima Gregson (Girls’ Under-16) also won their age categories to reach the Grand Final, going one better than their runner-up finishes in 2011.

Elizabeth Swallow (Girls’ Under-21) from Newbury & Crookham and Burghill Valley’s Christopher Makin (Boys’ Under-18) are the two other age-group winners who will join Faldo for the World Amateur Golf Ranking event at Lough Erne.
