Play in the English women's open mid-amateur championship at Wetherby Golf Club, Yorkshire, resumed at 12 noon after a three-hour suspension caused by torrential rain.
Today's stroke play qualifying section of the championship has been reduced from 36 holes to 18, with the top 32 players going forward to the matchplay stages, which start tomorrow.

Eleven matches were on the course when play was suspended and they were evacuated by the championship team and volunteers.

Conditions were described as horrendous and one long-standing club member said she had never before seen the greens so badly flooded.

The championship is supported by Tourism Ireland.
