Lauren Whyte, 16-year-old St Regulus club member from St Andrews,
will represent Scotland in next week's European Young Masters in Hungary as the new Paul Lawrie Foundation Scottish U18 girls' champion.
She beat Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies), 18, by 4 and 2 in this morning's 18-hole final over the Crail Golfing Society's Craighead course in Fife.
Lauren, pictured above, who had beaten the top seed and 2010 champion Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies) in the semi-finals, played quality golf to take the measure of international team-mate Ailsa, pictured below, who is the Angus women's county champion (but not the Angus girls title-winner this year).

Whyte, a beaten semi-finalist last year, had six birdies and was approximately two under par for the holes played. Summers had three birdies.

Summers, pictured right, started 6-6 to be two down on the third tee. Whyte still led by two holes at the turn.
She increased her advantage to three with a birdie 3 at the 10th but Summers countered with a birdie at the 11th to get back to two down.
Whyte clinched her victory by winning the 12th with a birdie and the 13th with a par to stand four up on the 14th tee.
Summers won the 14th with a par 5 but, three down,  she was running out of holes. After a half in 5 at the 15th, Whyte won the title with a par 4 at the 16th for a 4 and 2 victory.
