RACHAEL WATTON HURT IN CAR ACCIDENT - WITHDRAWS FROM BLAIRGOWRIE FIELD

By COLIN FARQUHARSON Colin@scottishgolfview.com Scotland international Rachael Watton, one of the favourites for the Scottish Under-21 girls golf championship which starts today (Wednesday) at Blairgowrie has been injured in a car crash and has had to pull out of the tournament. Said the Mortonhall player, who has completed her first year at Denver University, during which she won a tournament on the US women's college circuit, said: "I've been involved in a car accident. A van ran into the back of my car. I am experiencing neck and back pains from whiplash but luckily these are my only injuries. "But, as a result of this, I very much regret that I have had to withdraw from the championship at Blairgowrie."
