SALLY WATSON, LAURA MURRAY START WELL IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Sally Watson and Laura Murray started well in the European women's individual amateur stroke-play championship at Ljubljana, Slovenia today.
Stanford University, California student Sally+, whose family home is now at Elie, Fife, shot a three-under-par 68 to be lying in joint fifth place in a field of 144 at the end of the first day.
Scottish champion Laura Murray looked set also to score in the 60s until she bogeyed the last two holes for a par-matching 71.
Three players are setting the pace on five-under 66 - Katerina Ruzickova (Czech Republic), Andrea Vilarasau (Spain) and Sweden's Johanna Bjok.
Watson, leading qualifier for the match-play stages of the "British" at Carnoustie last month, birdied the first, fifth, short 10th, 13th and 18th with bogeys at the third and eighth in halves of 36 and 32.
Murray birdied the short sixth, seventh, 11th and short 16th but had bogeys at the fourth, 15th, 17th and 18th in halves of 35-36.
