SCOTLAND BOYS FINISH 8TH, GIRLS 13TH IN EUROPE
Scotland, beaten 3-2 by Norway in their last match today, finished last of eight in the European boys' golf team championship at Lidingo GC, Sweden. Scotland's girls, who did not qualify for the top flight in the European girls' team championship at St Leon-Rot GC, Germany, beat Norway 3-2 in their concluding match and were placed 13th in the final rankings. Scotland's boy winners were Greig Marchbak (2 and 1) and Bradley Neil (1 hole) in the singles. The Scots losers were Craig Howie and Ewan Scott (4 and 3) in the foursomes, and Jamie Savage (2 holes) and Lawrence Allan (2 holes) in the singles. Scotland's girl winners were Rachel Walker and Lauren Whyte (6 and 5) in the foursomes and Ailsa Summers (at 22nd) and Lesley Atkins (3 and 1) in the singles. Scots losers were Clara Young (1 hole) and Jessica Meek (at 20th). . |
