STIRLING'S DAVID BOOTH WON THE SILVER IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The University golf players from Spain dominated the 14^th World University Golf Championship in Liberec, Czech Republic (July 2^nd to 7^th, 2012) winning the gold in all categories.
The Men’s competition was dominated by Carlos Pigem Xammar, who also gave himself a beautiful golden birthday gift, with a total result of 270. Second placed winning the silver is David Booth from Great Britain with the result of 273, tied with Spaniard Juan Sarasti Bernarasem.
In the women's competition Camila Hedberg Bertrand (ESP) masterfully won the gold with a score of 271, leaving the silver and bronze for the Americans Amy Anderson (272) and Caroline Powers (277).
The Spanish also put their mark on the team competition winning the gold in the men‘s and women’s team tournament. In the Men´s Team tournament, Team Great Britain ended second and Ireland third. In the Women´s tournament the silver went to Team USA and the bronze to Germany.
89 male and 57 female golfers took part in the event.
At the closing ceremony FISU EC member Tai-Chen Cheng handed over the FISU flag to Guy Praplan, OC delegate from Crans-Montana, Switzerland, host of the 15^th edition in 2014.
