TOP FOUR SEEDS GO OUT IN SCOTTISH GIRLS' QUARTER-FINALS
It was a morning of surprises in the quarter-finals of the Paul Lawrie Foundation Scottish U18 girls championship at Crail Golfing Society's Craighead course in south Fife.
The No 1 seed and 2010 champion, Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies) was beaten 7 and 6 by the No 9 qualifier Lauren Whyte (St Regulus).
The No 2 seed, Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) was beaten two holes by the No 23 qualifier from Aberdeen, Tegan Seivwright (Deeside).
The No 3 seed, Anglo-Scot Nicola Callander (Mill Green, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire) lost to the 11th qualifier, Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) by one hole.
The No 4 seed, Jessica Meek (Carnoustie Ladies) lost by 2 and 1 to the 21st qualifier Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County).
The semi-finals line-up this afternoon is:
Lauren Whyte v Rachael Walker.
Ailsa Summers v Tegan Seivwright.
Latest positions:
Whyte one up on Walker after 14 holes.
Seivwright and Summers all square after 13 holes.
QUARTER-FINALS - Neilson bt Goodwin 2 holes, Liddell bt Macgarvie 6 and 5, Stewart bt Allan 4 and 3, Duffy bt Scott at 22nd.
SEMI-FINALS - Liddell bt Neilson 3 and 2, Stewart b Duffy 5 and 4.
