England's Matty Lamb from Hexham and Samantha Fuller (Roehampton) led the boys' and girls' sections at the end of a rain-hit first day in the Loretto School Scottish Under-14s golf championships at Buchanan Castle. Well over an hour's play was lost during a lunchtime suspension due to the weather. Lamb's one-under-par 69 gave him a one-shot overnight lead from Italy's Eduardo Gilletta. Samantha Fuller set the girls pace with a par-matching 72 to lead by one from Susana Vik (Norway). But there was a great effort from 12-year-old Torphins, Aberdeenshire lass Shannon McWilliam, pictured, a member at Aboyne Golf Club, to be sharing third place on 74.
