Lauren Whyte from St Andrews will play under-18 international team-mate Ailsa Summers from Carnoustie in Saturday morning's (9am) final of the Paul Lawrie Foundation Scottish girls' golf championship over the Crail Golfing Society Craighead course.
The four leading seeds were all knocked out in the morning quarter-finals.
St Regulus club member Whyte, the No 9 qualifier, beat the top seed and 2010 champion, Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies) by 7 and 6, and was roughly level par in her one-hole semi-final win over Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County) who had beaten the No 4 seed, Jessica Meek (Carnoustie Ladies) by 2 and 1 in the morning.
Whyte won the first, third and fourth for an early three-hole lead but Walker pegged her back to all square by winning the ninth, 10th and 14th.
A birdie 4 at the 15th put Whyte in the lead again and the last three holes were halved.
Ailsa Summers, the Angus women's and girls' county champion, beat the No 3 seed, Nicola Callander (Mill Green, Herts) by one hole in the quarter-finals and then squeezed through to the final at the 19th against Tegan Seivwright (Deeside), the dark horse of the tournament.
Seivwright qualified in 23rd position but had a series of good wins to reach the last four, including a two-hole victory in the quarter-finals over the No 2 seed, Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies).
In the semi-final, there was never more than a hole in it either way  and it took a birdie-par-birdie finish under pressure by Summers to reach the final for the first time
Ailsa had lost the 15th and 16th to be one down to Seivwright but squared the match with a birdie 2 at the short 17th, halved the 18th with a par 4 and then won the first extra hole, with a birdie 4.
Summers was roughly one under par at the finish.
Germany-based Fiona Liddell won the Ansley Reid Salver tournament for those who just failed to qualify for the scratch championship match-play. She beat Molly Stewart (Murcar Links) by4 and 3 in the final.
