ENGLAND NAME BOYS FOR US JUNIOR PLAYERS' CHAMPIONSHIP
NEWS RELEASE FROM ENGLAND GOLF
Bobby Keeble (Abridge, Essex), runner-up in this year’s English Boys under 18 Championship for the Carris Trophy, has been selected along with Robert Burlison (Oxley Park, Staffordshire) to represented England Golf in the Junior Players Championship at TPC at Sawgrass in Florida from August 31 to September 2.
Keeble, 17, lost a play-off for the under 18 title which went to four holes at Royal Cinque Ports in Kent after he finished tied with Patrick Kelly (Boston, Lincolnshire). He was then named in the England team that won the Boys Home Internationals in Ireland but this will be his first England representative honour as an individual.
Burlison, 17, was also a member of the winning England boys team in Ireland, having stepped up from an under 16 international. A winner of various titles in his home county, Burlison finished runner-up in the South of England Boys Open Championship last year and represented England in the Italian under 16 Championship.
The pair also finished joint runners-up in the recent South of England Boys Open Championship at Yeovil and Sherborne in Dorset.
The Junior Players Championship is a 54-hole stroke play event and is played over the Players Stadium and Dye’s Valley courses.
