MARSHALL COMPLETES STRATHTYRUM HAT-TRICK

Baberton's Karen Marshall won the Strathtyrum Tournament at St Andrews for the third year and a fifth time in all when she beat top seed Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir) by 3 and 1 in the final today (Friday). In the morning semi-finials, Marshall, the No 2 seed, beat Nicolle Shaw (Wanstead) 4 and 3 while Ramsay, who has never won the title, won by a similar margin against Wendy Nicholson (Broomieknowe).
