SCOTS BOYS LEAD TEAM EVENT IN BELGIUM
Scotland's Ewan Scott from St Andrews and Bearsden's Ewen Ferguson are leading the field by one shot in the boys' team event after two rounds of the Belgian junior international golf tournament at Royal Golf Club Belgique near Brussels. Scott has shot 75-73 for 148, Ferguson 73-77 for 150. Their combined total of 298 is one ahead of Italy and five ahead of third-placed Belgium. Individually, Scott is joint third, two shots behind the joint leaders from Finland and Belgium. Ferguson is sharing eighth place. In the girls' team event, Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) and Scottish champion Lauren Whyte (St Regulus) are lying fifth on 333. Spain lead with 303. Ailsa has scored 79-83 for 162 to be lying eighth in the individual girls' championship, 13 shots behind the joint leaders from Belgium and Spain. Lauren has had rounds of 81 and 90 for 171 to be joint 32nd. The tournament ends on Saturday. ends |
