Troon's Connie Jaffrey, unlucky not to be playing for Scotland in this week's Girls Home Internationals, is in line for a consolation success in the St Andrews Junior Women's Open over the Eden course.
She beat Eleanor Tunn (Reay) by 4 and 3 in today's first round and now plays Aboyne's Kimberley Beveridge who won her opening tie by 5 and 3 against an English challenger.
The No 1 seed, Tara Mactaggart (Minto) was beaten in the first round, on the 18th green by Samantha Taylor (Parklands).
Deeside's Tegan Seivwright is the No 2 seed and she is in the same half of the draw as Jaffrey and Beveridge.
