STRATHTYRUM WOMEN'S GOLF FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND

Kirriemuir's Ann Ramsay and Karen Marshall (Baberton), arch rivals in the Strathtyrum Tournament in years gone by, look set to be among the leading contenders again this week at the St Andrews' holiday golf tournament for women. Ann leads at the end of the first qualifying round with a two-over-par 75, two shots ahead of Karen who shares second place with Germany's Gundula Krause. The second qualifying round will decide who goes forward to the match-play stages.
