TARA MACTAGGART LEADS WITH 68 (-3) IN ST ANDREWS JUNIOR LADIES OPEN
Tara Mactaggart (Minto) reduced the Strathtyrum course to 68 strokes as she led the field at the end of the opening day of the St Andrews Junior Ladies Open.
Aberdeenshire girls Tegan Seivwright (Deeside) with a 69 and Aboyne's Kimberley Beveridge with a 70 were next best in a big field of 72 players.

In the St Andrews' Boys Open, which had a massive entry of 148 players, it was one of the South-of-the-Border competitors, Jonathan Noble (Delamere Forest) who led the way with a four-under-par 66.
He was two ahead of joint second placed Murray Naysmith (Marriott Dalmahoy) and Ross Dallas (Kirriemuir), both on 68
