ENGLAND WIN CANADIAN JUNIOR CHALLENGE

England’s youngsters captured their fifth successive Canadian International Junior Challenge and Nick Marsh won the individual title under sunny skies at OslerBrook Golf & Country Club in Clearview TownshipStarting the final round with a 16-stroke lead, the four England juniors continued their dominance, again out-performing everyone to close the event 22 strokes better than the Canadian squad, who were runners-up.

“To win any international competition is always very pleasing and to win this event five times in a row is thrilling,” said Steve Morrison, team manager for Team England. “The hospitality and quality of the course has been first class, and we look forward to returning next year.”

The English were led by tournament medallist Nick Marsh (Image © Tom Ward) who posted a final round 71 to finish on three-under-par 213, while Bradley Moore, the youngest of the English squad, finished with 74 for a tie for second, six strokes behind Marsh.
With English champion Harry Ellis returning 74 and Cameron Massey 78, the England team posted an impressive total of 219, three over par (+3) to retain the trophy with an aggregate of 654. 

The Canadian team’s final round 225 left them on 676 with Matthew Scobie finishing tied second with Moore on 219 after a final round 71. 

“The boys played well and I am happy with their runner-up finish,” stated Sean Casey, the Canadian team manager. “It was a fun week and hats off to a strong English squad, they should be proud of their victory.”

Colombia finished third, overtaking Mexico with a final day total of 223, seven better than the Mexicans, who finished on 696. Norway was fifth on 711 and the United States sixth on 751.
