Look out for the scores to soar today in the second round of the Ricoh Women's British Open championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club's Hoylake links.
Winds are already blowing at over 40mph and rattling the roof of the Media Centre ... and there are no birdies, only 5s, 6s and 7s on the scoreboard as the news comes in from the early starters on the Day 2 two-tee start.
At the end of the day, the leading 65 players and ties will go forward to the weekend's 36 holes.
Attendance figures for Day 1 here at Hoylake - 8,800, which is apparently an increase on the corresponding first day at Carnoustie last year when there was some customer resistance to the £35 admission fee.
No "customer resistance" this week at Hoylake, just the weather which will almost certainly be keeping the locals at home.
A lot of rain is forecast to come in for the final day's play on Sunday. Which is bad news for everybody.
Next year, when the Ricoh Women's British Open returns to an early August date at the Old Course, St Andrews - no Olympic Games to be taken into consideration for another four years - the weather and the crowds should be much better.
The men's Open championship attendance record was set at St Andrews, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.
