LAUREN WHYTE IS MADE OF RIGHT STUFF

Scottish girls champion Lauren Whyte, a member of the St Regulus club, St Andrews is not going to win The Duke of York Young Champions Trophy tournament at Royal Troon - but the 16-year-old deserves a medal for true grit.
Lauren played well for Scotland in her Women's Home Internationals debut in Cork at the end of last week but returned home nursing an injured wrist.

She has been having physio treament between rounds of 82 and 86.
So easy just to retire from the tournament but, as her mother Claire says:
"Lauren was determined she was going to play in the tournament and she is equally determined she is going to finish it."
A Slovenian girl Katja Pogacar leads the all-in field of boys and girls with great scores of 72 and 74 over a tough Royal Troon championship course.
Her aggregate of 146 gives her a two-shot lead over England ace Max Orrin (71-77) with one round to go.
Greig Marchbank (Dumfries and County) is a creditable joint fourth with scores of 78 and 73 for 151.
Scottish boys champion Craig Howie is joint seventh on 153 with rounds of 77 and 76.
