Scottish youths champion Greig Marchbank (Dumfries and County) finished as the top Scot in The Duke of York Young Champions Trophy Tournament at gale-swept Royal Troon links today. Greig shot rounds of 78, 73 and 76 for a final total of 227 and fourth place behind the trio who tied for first place on 225 - Ragnar Gardarsson (Iceland) (76 77 72), Max Orrin (England) (71 77 77) and Miss Katja Pogacar (Slovenia) (72 74 79). Gardarsson won the title and Orrin was placed second after a sudden-death play-off. Scottish boys match-play champion Craig Howie (Peelbes) finished joint 11th on 231 with scores of 77 ,76 and 78 Scottish girls match-play champion Lauren Whyte (St Regulus) withdrew from the final round after being given physiotherapist advice that she would do more harm to the wrist she injured playing in last week's Women's Home Internationals at Cork.
