RACHEL WATTON JT 11TH IN US GOLF


Edinburgh's Rachael Watton, a second-year student at Denver University, finished joint 11th in a field of 90 players at this week's Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club, Vail in Colorado.
Rachael, pictured right, had rounds of 78, 70 and 71 for a total of three-over-par 219 - 10 shots behind the winner, Demi Runas (UC Davis) (71-67-71).
Gillingham's Sian Evans (East Tennessee State) finished T39 with scores of 76, 78 and 75 for 229.
Emma Clegg (Missouri State) from Lancashire shared 44th place on 230 after scores of 77, 76 and 77.
Texas-San Antonio freshman Brogan Townend from Blackburn played well below her potential with rounds of 79, 83 and 79 for 241 and 73rd place.
Pepperdine won the team event ahead of UC Davis with Denver fifth, Texas-San Antonio seventh and East Tennessee State eighth in a field of 18 teams.

CHAPMAN TIES FOR FIFTH PLACE 

Jamie Chapman (Lincoln Memorial) from Sussex finished T5 in a field of 64 for the Tusculum Fall Classic at Link Hills CC, Greenville, Tennessee.
Chapman scored 67-74 for one-under-par 141 over a 6,763yd course with a par of 71.
Winner by two strokes with a six-under total of 136 was Connor Forning, a Lincoln Memorial team-mate of Chapman, with scores of 67 and 69.
Lincoln Memorial also won the team event ahead of Tuscullum College in a field of 11 teams.

RUTHERFORD JT THIRD IN WEST VIRGINIA

Phil Rutherford from Nuneaton, a student at Davis and Elkins College, finished joint third in a field of 65 players at the WVIAC Central Regional tournament at Canaan Valley GC, Davis in West Viriginia.
Rutherford had rounds of 71 and 70 for 141, three under par for the 6,984yd course (par 72)
Winner by four shots with a pair of 68s was Evan Muscari (Concord).
Christopher Young from Cardross, a team-mate of Rutherford's at Davis and Elkins, finished T19 with rounds of 75 and 73 for 149.
Concord won the team event ahead of Davis and Elkins in a field of 13 teams.
