US COLLEGE NEWS: RADFORD UNIVERSITY HIT BY INJURY

Having endured tornado 'time-outs' during Saturdays 36 holes at the Bucknell Invitiational in Lewisburg, , the Highlanders (Radford University), playing in their opening event of the fall, didn't have much luck on Sunday.
RU were 2 shots clear of the field going into the final round, but Hayley Hammond, playing in her first tournament since transferring from North Carolina State, was forced to withdraw through injury before the start of play.
This was a severe blow for the team and Hayley, as individually she was lying tied 5th (74-78) at the time. Despite a valiant and courageous effort by her team-mates, they could not hold on and finished 4th in a very tight finish, only two behind the winners, Boston University.
Alex Austin starred for the Highlanders with three straight 76's and a tie for 2nd place.
Kirsty Condon's final total of 235, including a team low of 73 in her second round, tied 17th in a field of 83.
