Macon, Georgia - Georgia State freshman Jonathan Grey, pictured, 6ft 5in from Kent, England, shared low medalist honors with Georgia's Sam Straka to earn his second straight victory on Sunday afternoon at the Brickyard Collegiate and lead the Panthers to a tie for 11th place.
Grey, ranked fourth by GolfStat and No. 11 by Golfweek entering the weekend, shot a final round 3-under, 69, his sixth consecutive round of par or better in his first season at Georgia State.
He birdied two of his final four holes to share the victory with Straka, who shot a final round 64 for the Bulldogs.
Grey shot his second 67 of the year on Saturday and is averaging 69.0 strokes through six rounds this year. He became the first Panther since Joel Sjoholm in 2008 to win multiple events in a season. Sjoholm went on to become Georgia State's first-ever First Team All-American that season.
"I was once again extremely impressed by Jonathan's play today," commented head coach Joe Inman. "Coming into the season I knew he was going to make an impact on our line-up, but I could never have imagined he would win his first two collegiate tournaments. I am very proud of him and look forward to continuing to watch him grow.
"Our team fought hard all weekend. Although our finish was not exactly what we had hoped for, we learned a lot this weekend that we can use going into our own tournament next weekend."
Grey shot 72-67-69 for eight-under-par 208 over a 7,125yd par-272 course.
Scottish North-east District Open champion Chris Robb from Banchory finished T11 in a field of 84 players. The former Scottish schoolboys title-holder and Inchmarlo Golf Centre member had rounds of 70-75-69 for two-under 214.
Fellow Scot and Chattanooga-Tennessee team-mate Liam Johnston from Dumfries finished T30 on 221 with scores 74, 77 and 70.
