Scotland girl international Jess Meek (Carnoustie Ladies), an 18-year-old +1 player, won the North-east/North/Angus girls' one-round golf competition at sunny Ellon Golf Club today (Sunday).
Jess, pictured right, a member of the Angus team who recently won the Scottish women's county team championship, was playing in one of her last events as a junior.
She shot an 82 on a wet course with nine hollow-tined greens, to win the top award by one shot from Kimberley Beveridge (Aboyne).
Kimberley was leading until she incurred a two-shot penalty by playing a wrong ball) to run up a triple bogey 7 at the very last hole. She finished second on 83.
Sophie Alexander (Deeside) had the third best gross score of 84 but won the leading handicap prize for a net 78, one ahead of Molly Stewart (Murcar Links) who plays off six.
Eleanor Tunn, made the 500-mile round trip from Reay to play and shot an 88
