The Continent of Europe team of nine to face Curtis Cup-holders Great Britain and Ireland in the two-day Vagliano Trophy match at Chantilly, near Paris next June, is certain to include the Spanish girl with the Swedish sounding name, Camilla Hedberg, pictured.
She was born in Spain and has a Swedish father!
Camilla, a student at the University of Florida - The Gators - has just won for a second time in the 2012-2013 US college season.
Spanish champion in 2011, Camilla won the individual title in this week's Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas's golf course at Austin by holing a 4ft putt at the first play-off hole against Canadian Jennifer Kiby (Alabama).
They had tied on eight-under-par 208, Camilla with scores of 71-67-70, Jennifer with 69-69-70.
Tied for third place was Stephanie Meadow (Alabama), the British open amateur champion and Curtis Cup heroine from Northern Ireland, and Erynne Lee (UCLA) on five-under 211.
Stephanie had a couple of late bogeys in returning scores of 69, 70 and 72. Erynne shot 69-74-68.
Scotland international Rachael Watton (Denver) finished T42 on 226 with scores of 76-76-77.
Aberdeen-born, US-raised Katy Cardno finished 49th in the field of 81 players with rounds of 80, 72 and 75 for 227. Katy's 72, matching the par of 72 for the 6,344yd course, was apparently a career best.
Alabama and Florida finished top of the team leaderboard with 863 apiece.
The tie-breaker was a comparison of the scores of the fifth highest Alabama and Florida players in the final totals. Florida's fifth best had a lower aggregate than Alabama's fifth best - so Florida were declared team winners, completing a double whammy in the wake of Camilla Hedberg's individual play-off victory.
Camilla, by the way, has not only two US college wins to her credit in the 2012-2013 season she has also returned eight sub-par scores, four of them in her last five rounds.
She is No 27 in the current R and A Women's World Amateur rankings but this week's win over a top-class field will undoubtedly bring her down nearer the No 20 mark in next week's revision of the rankings.
Home for Miss Hedberg is Sitges, Spain.
