CATRIONA FINISHES LPGA SEASON ON A HIGH

Catriona Matthew had one of the best scores - a three-under-par 69 - in the last round of the last tournament of the LPGA regular season at TwinEagles Golf Club, Naples in Florida.
The North Berwick player had rounds of 72, 77. 70 and 69 for a total of level par 288 in the CME Group Title-holders tournament. Her final round lifted her up from T46 to T29 in the final placings.
She had birdies at the long gifth, ninth, short 17th and 18th in halves of 34 (two under) and 35 (one under) with only one bogey, at the 11th.
Earlier in the tournament Matthew had three double bogeys - two in the second round and one in the first. 
There was a South Korea 1-2 to the final placings with US Women's Open champion Na Yeon Choi starting the final day with a one-shot lead and finishing it two shots clear of the field to win the $500,000 first prize, boosting her season's total to $1,981,834. She finished second to Inbee Park in the 2012 money-winners' table.
The 25-year-old from Seoul, who lives in Florida, had scores of 67, 68, 69 and 70 for 14-under-par 214. It was her second win of the season and her 12th victory worldwide.
Runner-up was So Yeon Ryu, earlier in the day named LPGA Rookie of the Year. She had scores of 66, 72, 68 an d70 for 276.
American Brittany Lincicome was third on 277 with rounds of 68, 69, 70 and 70, finishing a shot ahead of fourth-place Aussie, Karrie Webb (69-69-71-69).
France's Karine Icher was the highest placed European in the final standingsl. She finished sixth on 280 with rounds of 67, 70, 70 and 73.
Yorkshire's Jodi Ewart went backwards over the last two rounds. She had begun with scores of 74-72, then slumped to 77-78 for 301 and a final placing of 67th in a field of 73.
