SCOTS KATY AND PAMELA TEE OFF WITH 74s

Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll and Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire started solidly with two-over-par 74s in the Banesto Valencia women's pro golf tournament at Escorpion Golf Club, Spain, today (Thursday). They are sharing 22nd place behind Curtis Cup star Holly Clyburn, making her second appearance as a pro and setting the pace with a five-under-par 67. Katy is currently fourth in LETAS Order of Merit and this is the last event of the series. The first three in the table will be able to leapfrog over the LET Q School in Morocco next month and go straight on to the Ladies European Tour. So McNicoll needs to finish ahead of the Merit third placed player, Cecilie Lundgreen (Norway) in Spain to have a chance of dislodging her. Lundgreen had a par 72 and is joint sixth.
