LOUISE McGILLIVRAY MOVES FROM TENNESSEE TO BOSTON

E-mail from Louise McGillivray in USA

As I take a break this week for Thanksgiving, I remembered that I had never updated Kirkwoodgolf on my switch of college.
I have been extremely busy this semester as the work starts piling up but I am enjoying college more than ever. I transferred from Carson-Newman College at Jefferson City, Tennessee up to Merrimack College in Boston this fall and, of course, I am still on the golf team.

I  just wanted to update you in case you were looking for my scores from Carson-Newman College as some people have been asking my Mum (at Banchory Golf Club) if I had given golf up completely - which there is no chance that day will arrive when the clubs are tucked away in the garage.

Louise McGillivray's arrival has made a world of a difference to the fortunes of the Merrimack College women's golf team.
They have been fourth or better in all their team events in the first half of the 2012-2013 college golf season and chalked up two wins for the first time in the programme's history.
In the most recent event before the winter shutdown, the Quinipiac Classic at Wellingford, Connecticut, Louise finished third and Merrimack College second.
Louise headed the Merrimack scorers in a field of 36 players with rounds of 80-85 for 165 - nine shots behinid the winner, Kristina Unger (79-77) from Quinipiac University and two shots behind the runner-up, Katherine Rockwell (81-82), from Fairfield University.
Quinipiac (661) won the team title ahead of Merrimack (666) in a field of six squads.
Louise and Merrimack are not back in action until March 22. The Banchory lass will be raring to go by then!
