CANADIAN 15-YEAR--OLD LEADS WIRE TO WIRE TO WIN SOUTH AMERICAN TITLE
England's Callum Shinkwin and Brooke Henderson (Canada), the individual title winners at the South American amateur championships, supported by the R and A whose Golf Development Director Duncan Weir is first left in the line-up.
Henderson, who led from start to finish, shot 73-75-76-75 for an 11-over-par total of 299 to win her first overseas women's title.
Joint second on 305 were Canadian team-mate Jisoo Keel and Daniela Darquea (Ecuador).
Ireland's Paula Grant made the final to 10 with her best round of the four - a 75 - for a share of ninth place on 313.
Alex Peters (Notts Ladies) finished T13 on 318 after a closing round of 79.
British women's stroke-play title-holder Sarah-Jane Boyd from Truro came 20th on 322 after closing with an 82.
Welsh international Samantha Birks tied for 43rd place in a field of 52 with a total of 343 after finishing with a score of 90.
Young Irish player Jessica Carty finished T38 on 336 after a final round of 82.
