AMY BOULDEN ... leading the British and Irish challenge in Portugal

Carnoustie
teenager Jessica Meek, who will enrol at Missouri University in August, climbed
to joint 18th position with a par-matching 72 in the second round of the
72-hole Portuguese international women's amateur golf championship at Montado
Golf Resort on the Costa Azul.
Meek's 147 tally leaves her nine shots behind the joint leaders,
Germany's Vicki Troeltsch (67-71) and Roberta Liti from Italy (68-70).
Leading
the British and Irish challenge is Curtis Cup player Amy Boulden from Wales.
She had a 70 for 144.
Next comes Jessica Meek (pictured right) on 147, a shot ahead of
England’s Gabriella Cowley (West Essex), the Scottish Under-16 girls’ open champion,
who slashed eight shots off her first-round effort with a two-under-par 70 for
148, the same mark as Wales’ Katie Bradbury who went the other way with a 77.
