ABERDEEN STUDENT HELPS SAVANNAH COLLEGE WIN

Neale Barnes from Aberdeen - he was a pupil at Robert Gordon's College - finished sixth in a field of 18 and helped Savannah College, Georgia beat South Carolina Beaufort in a nine-a-side stroke-play team contest at Savannah Harbour, Georgia.
Barnes, pictured, a junior year student, had a 74 - three shots behind the individual winner, Brad Curren (SC Beaufort).
But Savannah College won the team contest 205-301.
Other UK students in the Savannah team were Taylor Sergeant, a freshman from Northants (T9 with a 76) and Tom Mather from Liverpool, a sophomore, who finished last of 18 with an 83.
