SCOTTISH CHAMPION FORREST DISAPPOINTS IN CALIFORNIA
Scottish amateur champion Grant Forrest from North Berwick, a student at San Diego University, finished a disappointing joint 35th in a fied of 69 players at the North Ranch Intercollegiate golf tournament at North Ranch Golf Club, Westlake Village in California.
Forrest, pictured, a second-year student, had rounds of 73, 75 and 79 for a total of 14-over-par 227 at a par-71, 6753yd course.
He finished 16 shots behind the winner, Yi Keun Chang (Southern California) who had scores of 70, 678 an d73 for two-under 211.
Zachary Blair (Brigham Young) finished second on 212 (70-71-71).
Tom Berry (San Diego State), a junior year student from Surrey, finished joint 15th on 223 (73-74-76).
Southern California completed the double by taking the team title with a total of 863, ahead of Brigham Young (872) and Pepperdine (875).
San Diego (902) finished joint eighth in the field of 12 teams.
BRACE MAKES TOP 10 AT LONG BEACH
Liam Brace from Suffolk, a student at Grand Canyon University, Arizona, finished joint ninth in a field of 57 players at the Del Walker Intercollegiate Classic at Virginia Country Club, Long Beach, California.
Liam shot three steady rounds of 70-71-71 for a two-over-par total of 212 over a par-70, 6582yd course.
Team-mate Mark Geddes from Cheshire finished 17th on 214 with scores of 70-74-70.
Tyler Torano (Loyola Marymount) won the individual title by four shots with scores of 66, 70 and 67 for seven-under 203.
Grand Candyon (856) finished fifth of nine teams behind winneers Long Beach State (838).
