British women's open amateur championship winner at Carnoustie last June, Stephanie Meadow looks set for another great season to add to 2013 when she also played her part in GB and I's Curtis Cup triumph over the Americans at Nairn.
The University of Alabama student from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland has moved into second place in a field of 84 players at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Grande Country Club, San Juan.
Stephanie has shot 73-70 over a par-72, 6,191yd River Course, birdieing the sixth, short seventh and long 11th with one bogey, at the 13th, in her second round for a 36-hole tally of 143.
With one round to go, she is three shots behind the leader, US Curtis Cup player Emily Tubert (Arkansas University) whose four-under-par score of 140 is made up of a pair of 70s.
Aberdeen-born Katy Cardno (Texas Christian) is T55 on 156 with scores of 81 and 75.
Alabama (583) lead the team event ahead of Arkansas (587) with Texas Tech and Texas Christian (both 597) sharing the lead in an event being contested by 15 college teams.

ELIZABETH MALLETT LYING 6th in FLORIDA
Elizabeth Mallett from Sutton Coldfield, beaten by France's Perrine Delacour in the 2009 British girls' championship final at West Lancs GC and now a freshman student at North Carolina University, is heading for her highest finish so far on the US women's college circuit.
Elizabeth, pictured right,  has put together rounds of 73 and 69 for a 36-hole tally of two-under-par 142 over a par-72, 6,374yd course for the UCF Challenge at Red Tail Golf Club, Sorrento in Florida.
She has moved up to sixth place with one round to go, only three shots behind the joint leaders on five-under 139, Briana Mao (Virginia) (70-69) and Natalie Wille (Augusta State) (67-72).
Aberdeen's Gemma Dryburgh, a Scottish girls international and student at Tulane University, New Orleans, has struggled to produce her best form so far in this tournament. She is T81 on 157 with scores of 81 and 76.
Melissa Siviter (Georgia State University) from the West Midlands is T87 on 157 with rounds of 76-82.
North Carolina (565) head the team title chase, well ahead of Central Florida and Tulane, sharing second place on 581, with East Carolina and Augusta State bracketed in fourth place on 587 in a field of 18 teams.

AIMEE WAS T13 AT KIAWAH ISLAND

Apologies to West Florida Univesity students Aimee Paterson, a sophomore from Hampshire, and freshman Daisy-May Kenny for missing them out for our recent report on the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate won by Samantha Smollen (Lynn University) with scores of 69-73 for two-under 142.
Aimee, pictured right, finished T13 on 152 with scores of 73-79 and Daisy-May came joint 33rd on 159 with rounds of 84-75.
The English girls helped West Florida achieve its second top-three finish of the 2012-2013 college season.
Lynn (592) were the team title winners with UNC Pembroke (611) second and West Forida (614) a creditable third in a field of 18 teams.
