STIRLING STUDENTS FINISH 13TH IN CALIFORNIA
JACK McDONALD made the top 20 individually at California college event. Stirling University finished 13th of 15 teams in the Prestige at PGA West College Invitational tournament over 54 holes of the Greg Norman Course at the San Diego, California venue. Stirling's total of 48-over-par 898 was 47 shots behind the joint winners, Washington and Southern California who both totalled one-under 851. Jack McDonald did best individually of the five Stirling students. The Barassie player finished joint 17th in a field of 88 players with a three-over total of 216, made up of rounds of 72, 71 and 73. Matthias Eggenberger (72-76-74) and Cormac Sharvin (73-75-74) both totalled 222 and finished joint 40th. Zander Culverwell and Scottish boys champion Craig Howie finished joint 81st and 85th respectively. Culverwell had rounds of 83, 79 and 78 for 240 while Howie had rounds of 85, 77 and 83 for 245. The individual winner was Portugal's Pedro Figueiredo (UCLA) with an eight-under-par total of 205 over the par-71 course.Teams counted their best four individual scores daily.
