BEN JOHNSON IS SECOND ENGLISH-BORN WINNER ON US CIRCUIT THIS WEEK
Ben Johnson (Bethany College, Kansas), a sophomsore student from Wext Sussex, was a second English-born winner on the US college circuit this past week, following in the footsteps of four-times winner Jonathan Grey (Georgia State) from Kent (scroll down to read about his latest win).
Johnson, pictured right, won the OPSU Spring Invitational at Buffalo Dunes, Garden City, Kansas with a four-over-par total of 148 over a par-72, 6877yd course.
Ben had rounds of 71-77 to win by four strokes in a field of 43 players.
Three other British students on the Bethany College roster were also in action.
Matt O'Neill, a sophomore from Warrington, finished T13 on 160 (82-78).
Greg Miller, a freshman from Livingston, Scotland, finished T13 on
160 with rounds of 82-78.
James Tisdale, a junior year man from Liverpool, made it four Bethany College students in the top 20 with rounds of 83-78 for 161 and joint 16th place
Not surprisingly, Bethany College scored a 12-shot win in the team title race, with Garden City finished second in a field of six.
