Craibstone Golf Club on the northwesterly suburbs of Aberdeen is throwing its gates open to lady professionals to play in its annual Craibstone Ladies Open on Sunday, May 5.
That's the day before the Paul Lawrie Scottish Ladies Open Tour event at Trump International and two days in advance of the PLGC SLOT competition at Deeside.
So any competitors coming north for the PLGC SLOT North-east double-header might change their plans to arrive in Aberdeen on the Sunday and have a go at earning some extra money at Craibstone.
Apart from the Paul Lawrie Ladies Tour, there is no other female event in Scotland that is open to lady professionals AND amateurs.
In England, there is one big one - the Roehampton Gold Cup - which entertains both categories.
Billy Sim, pictured above, the Craibstone general manager, said:
"We would be delighted to have some of the lady pros come early and play in our Craibstone Ladies Open on the Sunday.
"We will put up £850 in cash to be won by the first five lady pros in their own section of the prize list. That will be £350 for the winner, £250 for the runner-up, £150 for the third, £100 for the fourth and £50 for the fifth."
Billy has fixed the entry fees at £25 a head for lady pros and £12 for lady/girl amateurs. Competitors won't have to pay that until they arrive on the Sunday.
The lady/girl amateurs' tee times on Sunday, May 5 will range from 10am to 1.50pm.
The first lady pro tee time will not be until 2pm so plenty of time for them to drive up from the Central Belt.
