HEIDI BAEK MAKES TOP TEN IN SOUTH CAROLINA
Former England girl international Heidi Baek from Suffolk, a freshman student at Maryland University, has finished joint seventh in a field of 96 players at the Briar's Creek Intercollegiate women's tournament at Briar's Creek, John's Isle, South Carolina.
Over apar-72 course of 6058yd, Heidi (pictured) had rounds of 78, 78 and 71 for a total of 227. Her 71 was one of the best scores in the field for the final round.
She finished 10 shots behind the winner by three, Ashley Armsrong (Notre Dame) (74-71-72 for one-over 217)
Maryland team-mate Jessica Gregory, a freshman from Sittingbourne, finished T46 on 237 with scores of 82, 77 and 78.
Notre Dame (906) won the team title ahead of Maryland (914) in a field of 18 teams.
KIRSTY MAKES TOP 20 AT HILTON HEAD
Paisley-born Anglo-Scot Kirsty Condon (Radford University), pictured, finished T20 with a round of 84 in the Low Country Intercollegiate over 18 holes at Moss Creek Plantation, Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Over a par-72 course of 5822yd, Sammy Vass from Tain (north of Inverness) and a student at Gardner-Webb University, finished T30 in a field of 88 players.
Joint winners on 78 - must have been a really bad-weather day! - were Maria Kjelldorff (Western Carolina) and Sarah Knapp (Darmouth).
Western Carolina (328) won the team title from runners-up Princeton (332) with Gardner-Webb (342) ninth and Radford (343) 10th of the 16-team line-up
